Accountability in the New Year

Well, we made it through 2010 and I am feeling this year is going to be bigger and better than ever.  It's time to set some goals...  Who is with me? We have so many choices in life, and if you choose to make goal-setting a priority, I guarantee you will move into a new realm of happiness and organization.

I have created a little group on my Facebook Fan page (Event has just been updated) - Since I recently transferred from a "Group" to a traditional page, I am still getting it set up, but I thought it would be a fun idea to help each other with some new challenges and support.

In recent years, I have facilitated a group from the book, "Stand Up For Your Life" by Cheryl Richardson.  In it, she urges readers to stop playing it safe by putting their needs and priorities aside. Her premise: by spending less time listening to others and more time strengthening your relationship with yourself, you can learn to govern your own life and influence others.

I challenge you to buy, borrow or find this book in the library and join me in a weekly/monthly support group to Take Action on your life!  We can work on our goals together - there is nothing better than having the support of other women to push us through life's challenges.  Check in HERE to find out more, and please click on the "Attending" button to join.

On the last week of January, I will send all who are attending a link to the private forum.  Be sure to read the first chapter of the book, and be ready to discuss your goals with the group.  I want women who will be committed to meet on a weekly basis, who can keep our meetings stricktly confidential, and who are serious about taking action and standing up for their lives!

This is my gift to you...  I love you all, and am so lucky to have you in my life.  Have a safe and happy New Year!!

Renee

Quick Holiday Decorating Tips

It seems the Holiday time gets longer and longer every year.  No sooner does Halloween end, and people are running out to buy their Christmas tree and decking the halls before Thanksgiving approaches.

For those of you who feel as if the time is being consumed too quickly to get organized for Christmas, you can turn the tables on time with just a few simple, affordable adjustments.

~ If specially prepared hor d'ourves are too much for your To Do list, you don't have to be a total grinch.  Add a small touch of holiday cheer to your home or office with clear containers filled with holiday Hershey Kisses and colored pistachio nuts.

~ Invest in a nice quality bolt of wide red ribbon, and tie off to various objects around your home, adding a pop of holiday color.  Everyday ordinery candle holders will look festive and whimsical.

~ Liven up your room with the smell of the woody scents of mistletoe, berries, pine boughs, and holly with a Yankee Candle.
~ If you aren't able to get a real tree, visit the tree farm and ask for clippings.  You can get that fresh pine tree scent throughout your home without the hassle.

gave some great Christmas tree options - this tree wall sticker is a limited edition work of art by Christopher Daniels.

Enjoy, and have a very HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!  ~  Renee

Organize Your Holidays

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Are you ready?  Sometimes you need a list or two to get all of your ducks in a row, and I can personally testify that without them, I would be lost.  Now that you are just over two weeks away from  the big day, it's a good time to assess your situation and start planning.

My favorite resource is ListPlanIt which offers hundreds of lists to get you moving on the right track.  Some of my favorites for the holidays:

Stress Free Organized ChristmasGift List
Gift Budget
Holiday Card Planner with Addresses
Cards Received - If you are waiting to send out to those who have sent you cards
Handmade Gifts Planner
Holiday Party Planner
Menu List

Get a three-ring binder, print out your lists, print a December calendar page from your Word Processor and plan your days all the way through to New Years.  Remember to add thaw days for your turkey or duck, and preparation times for the side dishes you can make ahead of time!
This downloadable site truly a gift to yourself and has no limit to imaginaton.  One of the best ideas I've seen was to create a list to record this year's memories (what a great project for the kids!)  Go check them out, make your lists and check them twice!

Weeding Out the eMail Clutter

Wouldn't it be great if we had organized eMail - if we could just get to our eMail everyday and chisel that in-box into a big fat 0?  I would love it if I could just get it down under 500 - ugh!  But with today's convenience of cyber sign-ups, entries, newsletters and alerts, we can easily become bogged down with repetative notifications.

Want to make sure you find those important messages amidst all the social networking  notifications and subscriptions?  The best way to assess the situation is to utilize your eMail options.

Somewhere close to the top of your main eMail page, you will see a sort drop-down button.

Click on "Arrange By" to change it from the default sort by date

Select "From" in the list

Click once again to switch from A-Z  to Z-A and vice-versa

Arranging by "From" will allow you to choose at a glance, and delete the unwanted clutter from your in-box

Now you can fly through that eMail with ease, knowing who they are from, identifying the "junk" mail or those you just don't have time for, and the ones that you may want to archive for later.

This is a great time to un-subscribe to those nuisance subscriptions that you once found interesting, but now clog up your in-box with daily fluff.

Hope this was helpful!
